About Amirhossein Samimi Amoly
Amirhossein Samimi Amoly is an Iranian cinematographer and documentary filmmaker. His work moves between fiction, documentary, and experimental forms, with a focus on visual storytelling, migration, memory, and the fragile border between reality and imagination.
Originally trained in Materials and Metallurgy Engineering at the University of Tehran, he later turned to cinema and began working behind the camera. As a cinematographer, he has collaborated on numerous short films, documentaries, and visual projects, developing an approach shaped by observation, intuition, and the transformation of everyday reality through images.
Alongside his cinematography work, he develops documentary projects that explore collective experience, personal memory, and the hidden tensions of social and political life. He is currently studying Film / Camera at Zurich University of the Arts and Directing / Documentary at Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF.
